USD/CAD dips below 1.0300

FXstreet.com (Córdoba) - The USD/CAD slumped to fresh weekly lows sub-1.0300 during the NY session weighed by the latest string of US and Canadian data.

The pair lost around 90 pips from daily highs and briefly dipped below the 1.0300 level to hit a low of 1.0295 before bouncing slightly. At time of writing, USD/CAD is trading at the 1.0310 zone, where it records a 0.4% decline on the day.

USD/CAD is extending losses into a second day after being rejected from the 1.0420 area, where it hit a 1-year high on Wednesday.

According to the Economics Research Team at Goldman Sachs, “A US investment recovery could potentially provide incremental upward pressure on the USD, tighten credit spreads for those that engage in capex spending and push revenues higher in areas that supply capital goods.”
