USD/CHF breaks below 0.8800 after minutes

FXStreet (Córdoba) - The USD/CHF fell 35 pips in a few minutes following the release of the FOMC minutes. Price broke below 0.8800 and bottomed at 0.8788 reaching the lowest price in two weeks and extended losses.

The US dollar weakened after the minutes across the board, particularly versus commodity currencies. Stocks jumped as investors interpreted the minutes.

Another decline for the USD/CHF

In the last hour of trading in Wall Street the pair holds near the lows, headed toward the third daily decline in a row and the lower close since March 18. The USD/CHF continues to decline after hitting 0.8950 early in April and starts to eye 2014 lows located around 0.8700.

Low inflation and a weak USD - BAML

Athanasios Vamvakidis, FX Strategist at Bank of America Merrill Lynch asked the question, "How do you position for a strong US recovery, with low inflation and a weak USD?".
